The world Cup of hockey

MOSCOW, USSR. April 28, 1986. The captain of the Swedish national team Hokan Sedergen has been awarded the team silver medals for second place in the championship. The winner of the championship was the USSR national team for the 2nd time. In the final match the Soviet hockey players won a victory over the Swedish team with the score 3:2. The bronze medals went to the Canadian team. According to the results of the championship three best players were determined: the goalkeeper P. Lindman (Sweden), the defender V. Fetisov and the forward V. Krutov. The fair play prize was awarded to the hockey players from Poland. The most of goals (8) were scored by the Swedish forward T. Steen and the American B. Erickson. According to Goal plus pass system the top scorer was S.Makarov (18 points). He was also named the best hockey player of Europe. Alexander Sentsov/TASS
