As a KC-135Q, this aircraft was dedicated to refuelling Lockheed SR-71A reconnaissance aircraft with the very low volatility JP-7 fuel, carried in the fuselage cabin tanks, with normal fuel for the KC-135 in the wing tanks. (By 1995 converted to KC-135T, powered by CFM-56 turbofan engines)
