Royal Air Force - Hawker Siddeley HS.801 Nimrod R.1 XW664 of no.51 Squadron at RAF Wyton. XW664 was one of three Nimrods especially ordered for use as Electronic and Signals Intelligence gathering aircraft. With highly specialised electronic surveillance equipment the Nimrod R.1s were extensively used to gather intelligence form the former Warsaw Pact countries, flying over the Baltic sea and arctic seas, as well as hot-spots worldwide
