Cartoon, Two Obadiahs. "Why don't you write an article on the morals of the stage? You ought to know something."... "What do you think?" Possibly a reference to J Willing Senior and J Willing Junior, known as the Two Obadiahs, although James Willing was actually a pseudonym for John Thomas Douglass (1842-1917), manager of the Standard Theatre, Shoreditch, London. It is not clear whether the younger Willing existed or was simply just another pseudonym, to avoid Douglass's name appearing as the author of too many plays
