Henry I of England orders brother's eyes burnt out
King Henry I of England, also known as Henry Beauclerc, orders the eyes of his brother, Robert Curthose, Duke of Normandy, to be burnt out, to prevent him from escaping captivity. Other sources say Henry merely threatened to burn his brother's eyes out if he tried to escape again
