Murder of Prince of Wales by Edward IV and brothers
Murder of the Prince of Wales (Edward of Westminster, Edward of Lancaster, 1453-1471) by Edward IV and his brothers. The circumstances are not precisely known, but according to one version the prince told Edward IV that he had come to recover his father's (Henry VI's) heritage, Edward IV struck him across his face with his gauntlet hand, and his brothers killed the prince with their swords. Seen here is the prince's mother, Margaret of Anjou, trying to protect her son. According to other accounts, the prince died during the Battle of Tewkesbury
