The Harrow and Wealdstone railway accident
The scene of the Harrow and Wealdstone rail crash - a three-train collision at Harrow and Wealdstone station in Wealdstone, Middlesex, during the morning rush hour of 8th October 1952. 112 people died in the crash with 340 suffering injuries, 88 of these being detained in hospital. It is still the worst peacetime rail crash in British history and the second deadliest overall after the Quintinshill rail disaster of 1915
