Erie Railroad Portage Viaduct. The trestle wooden structure built in1852; destroyed by fire in 1875. Designed by Silas Seymour 276m long, 71m above Genessee Upper Falls in Letchworth Gorge near Portageville, upstate New York. First trans-continental railroad completed 1869
