Dr Heinz Zinram - Photographer
Dr. Heinrich (Heinz) Zinram (1910 - 2008) - photographer, born in Vienna, qualified as a Dr of Law in the early 1930s. Left Austria for England in 1939, but in the summer of 1940 was sent to Australia as a declared Enemy Alien (in the UK). Dr Zinram found himself at a internee camp in Hay, New South Wales, where he remained for 2 years before deciding to risk the dangerous passage back to the UK. By the late 1940s, Dr Zinram was a well established photographer and a Fellow and Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. Dr Zinram worked for clients such as Time Life, London Transport, British Mail, the Mirror Group, Patons and Baldwins and Wedgwood, his unerring eye for composition and grasp of technical issues producing a body of work which is striking, beautifully shot and highly distinctive
