Picture No 10949404
Date 1915
Description A blighty one, wounded soldier, 1915.
Details

An injured soldier is carried away by stretcher bearers, whilst two officers look on. "Haven't you heard? He's got a shrapnel bullet in his foot. Has he? comes the reply. Lucky beggar!" Part of a series of articles written by an officer returned from the Front on sick leave for The Bystander, offering a different perspective to that given by the newspaper 'correspondent at the front' that the public was more accustomed to.
