Alfred Cecil Critchley (1890-1963), greyhound racing pioneer and aviation administrator. Critchley was responsible for introducing greyhound racing to Britain in 1926 with the building of a track at Belle Vue, Manchester. He founded and was Managing Director of the Greyhound Racing Association and was instrumental in establishing the sport in the country. Pictured here with his wife at a Royal Academy preview.
