Description | A Khaki Lincoln - the Jockey Club justified to 'carry on' |
Details |
Army officers in the paddock at Lincoln, watching the parade before the big race in March 1915. 'The salient feature of the racing at Lincoln last week was the prevalence of khaki both in the enclosures and outside them, a proof that in deciding not to put a stop to racing the Jockey Club were right...If there were some shirkers among the crowd, their number was almost neglible.'
