Description | A lantern lecture for soldiers in a YMCA hut, WW1 |
Details |
Mental refreshment for fighting men: a lantern lecture in a Y.M.C.A. hut. A lantern slide lecture in progress inside one of the 2000 YMCA centre available to Allied soldiers during the First World War. According to The Graphic in which this picture was published, 'these lectures are given by professors and scholars who names are household words in cultured circles...Wherever men are serving, the Y.M.C.A. is at hand to help, and to many the Y.M.C.A. hut becomes a veritable sanctuary.'
