Description A propeller attached to the wreckage of a German zeppelin
Details

The wreckage of a German zeppelin shot down by British fighter planes and anti-aircraft fire following a bombing raid on London, 23rd September 1916. The photograph shows one of the zeppelin's enormous propellers with a sentry stood close by giving a sense of scale. The airship was one of two to crash in Essex following the raid.
