A riverside scene showing picnic baskets being unloaded in preparation for a picnic. The men and women taking part are dressed in summer attire typical of the 1880's; straw boaters, bustled dresses and striped boating jackets. The Victorians popularised the picnic turning into a fashionable social occasion and elaborate feast.
