Description | A temporary sanctuary for Delhi's hard pressed Muslims |
Details |
A scene at the Jami Masjid Mosque where several hundreds of refugees, after fleeing from their burning homes, were accommodated until refugee camps were ready to receive them. All Muslims in the Delhi area were in acute panic, the news of Muslim-wrought atrocities in the West Punjab having inflamed Hindu opinion in the capital. One of the results of the widespread violence following Partition and the creation of modern India and Pakistan.
