A scene from A Winter's Tale at the Prince's Theatre, Oxford Street, Manchester. The theatre had been repoened in August 1869, following refurbishment by Mr. Alfred Darbishire, architect, with the addition of 300 seats to the upper circle and eight private boxes, and extensive redecorations.
