Advertisement for Abdullah cigarettes during the First World War with a poem entitled, 'Cheero!' reflecting the British Army's obsession with cigarettes or 'smokes.' A picture of a jolly soldier from a Scottish or Highland regiment is captioned with one of the favourite optimistic phrases from the Great War - 'Are we downhearted?' The answer is of course, 'no'!
