Black and white sketch by celebrated artist Edmund J Sullivan for Scotch whisky brand Dewar's, entitled The Spirit of Wisdom in the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News of 10th October 1925. The image, entitled 'The Bookman' accompanied text which offered books as a perfect companion to Dewar's whisky.
