Alice Eis and Bert French performing the dramatic, and rather scandalous Vampire Dance at the London Hippodrome in 1909. The dance was inspired by Rudyard Kipling's poem, The Vampire, which in turn was inspired by the painting of the same name by Philip Burne-Jones.
