Details

Portrait of Sitting Bull with elaborate feathered head dress reaching to the ground. Sitting Bull lead the resistance against the Americans which culminated in the defeat of General Custer. He escaped into Canada in 1879, but was shot following another rising on December 15th 1890, shortly after this image appeared.
