The Afghan revolt: rebellion of the Shinwari tribe. An Afghan guard on the photographer's car passing through the 'Bandits' Hills. A precaution in the forty mile desert between the Indian frontier and Jalalabad. The Shinwari rebels had destroyed the town of Jalalabad, burning down the palace.
