Representative types of British light aeroplanes flying over a typical 'modern' aerodrome. The green monoplane on the left is a Westland 'Widgeon', which is flying immediately above an Avro 'Avian' from the Lancs Aero Club. Slightly above to the right is a Blackburn 'Bluebird' from the Yorks Aero Club, which is flying beneath a Desoutter Sports Coupe, painted in orange and black, the colours of the National Flying Services. To the left is another Desoutter. The green and white biplane seen at the top of the picture on the right is a Coupe 'Moth' whilst below it fly a yellow Gipsy Moth from the London Aeroplane Club and a blue and white Comber 'Swift'.
