Description An Emigrant Ship leaving Great Britain 1844
Details

Three masted sailing ship being towed out of the harbour at the start of its journey to Australia. In the 1840's Her Majesty's Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners regulated emigration to Australia and Canada and assisted families and single men with useful trades to emigrate.
