A sketch showing the interior of a London cabs and cabmen's shelter, enough room for eight or ten persons to sit comfortably at table. While the attendant in charge has his separate compartment and kitchen at the end. Food prices where regulated by an official tariff, and newspapers, popular magazine and a few books were available to read. The cost of creating a shelter, some £200 and was defrayed by generous donations and subscriptions to the Cabmen's Shelter Fund.
