Sketches of Consul, the celebrity chimpanzee known as the 'man monkey' appearing at the Hippodrome in 1903. Charles Sykes, reporting for The Bystander's very first issue, shows Consul playing the piano in a wig, riding a bicycle, going to bed and at the dinner table.
