Description | Aristoc WWII stockings advertisement - rayon |
Details |
Advertisement for Aristoc stockings in 1944 showing a woman in WRNS uniform inspecting a pair. The advert's copy promises that once victory has been achieved, 'a plentiful supply of lovely, clinging Aristoc' will be available. For the time being though, women will have to make do with the 'best possible wartime stockings - Aristoc Utility' and a limited supply of Raystoc and Aristile brands. Rayon was used for the majority of wartime stockings, with silk and nylon both hugely limited.
