Police attempt to arrest a girl at Glenbeigh, Kerry, Ireland for assault on 'Emergency Men' during the evictions. These men were drafted in to guard property from which people had been recently evicted. Forcible evictions became widespread in mid to late 19th century rural Ireland and were the backdrop to the Rent and Land wars in there.
