Description Arrest of the Archbishop of Paris; Paris Commune 1871
Details

The arrest of Georges Darboy, the Archbishop of Paris, by the Communards during the Commune of 1871. At the end of the Franco-Prussian war, Parisian socialists set up the Commune and refused to surrender Paris to the rightwing French government.
