Spread from The Sketch magazine, showing scenes at Reddish House, Broadchalke, near Salisbury, the home of artist, writer, photographer and designer, Cecil Beaton. The house is described as a 'small architectural jewel of the Charles II period'. On the left he is shown pouring out claret for Miss Davies at lunch-time, when the guests are seated around a period William and Mary table. The right hand page shows the drawing room, bedroom, entrance hall and terrace. Beaton's mother poses in two of the pictures, as does his Australian terrier, Susan.
