Page from The Tatler reporting on distinguished guests enjoying the hospitality at the luxury villa belonging to American actress Maxine Elliott at Golfe Juan on the French Riviera. The villa was designed by architect Barry Dierks and built at a cost of £80,000. Among its features were shaded balconies and a water chute from the swimming pool out into the sea. Among the guests featured here are Mrs Rhoda Lewisohn, Lady Castlerosse, Diana Forbes-Robertson (Maxine's niece and subsequent biographer), Sir Victor and Lady Warrender, Sir Michael Duff-Assheton-Smith and the novelist, Michael Arlen.
