Description | Banquet at Crystal Palace by Sir Joseph and Lady Paxton |
Details |
Banquet given by Sir Joseph and Lady Paxton in Crystal Palace, London. Paxton (1801 - 1865) famously built the glass structure to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. The building was based on his previous build, the Lily House at Chatsworth and was simple to erect, cheap and would not scar Hyde Park where the exhibition would be held.
