Battle of Brunanburh between the Anglo-Saxon King Aethelstan and an alliance of Olaf Guthfrithson and others, during the Viking invasions of England. Losses were heavy on both sides, and English territory was reclaimed from the Vikings. The exact location of the battle is unknown, but is thought to have been in the north of England.
