Belgian troops in Termonde (Dendermonde), Belgium, during the early stages of the First World War. The town had been badly damaged during a German attempt to advance. Showing a regiment of Belgian soldiers marching down what is left of the main street (above), and Belgian soldiers stopping for a rest (below).
