Scene from The Illustrated London News foundry showing the plates being curved in readiness to fit the curved cylinders of the printing-machines. The plates would be first put into a powerful press and put through hot and cold presses before finally being testing in the shape at the front of the picture. From a special ILN supplement of 1911 showing in detail the processes through which the paper was produced.
