Photograph showing Benito Mussolini (1883 - 1945), the Italian dictator, testing a radio set during the Italian Army manoevres of August 1936. On 30th August that year Mussolini broadcast a speech in which he claimed that the Italian army could mobilise 8 million men, with only a few hours notice.
