Description | Bird life in Salonika: officer and golden eagle |
Details |
'This magnificent golden eagle belongs to an officer on the Balkan front, and is so tame that strangers can handle him. When first caught he was only just fledged, a mere ball of fluffy feathers, but he flourished exceedingly in captivity and does full credit to his upbringing. He takes long flights daily, but never fails to return to his master, with who he is here seen indulging in a friendly tussle.”
