Description Bread Line at the Bowery Mission, New York
Details

A long line of down and outs waiting at the doors of the Mission in the Bowery district of New York, where 1200 destitute men were given free food and coffee every day. Signs of economic downturn in prosperous America a year before the stock market crash of 1929 would result in the Great Depression.
