Description | British Expeditionary Force in Boulogne |
Details |
Some of the British Expeditionary Force with their horses on the quay at Boulogne outside the main town station, their landing point in France. The fringes of cloth worn by the horses round their heads were designed to prevent irritation by flies. The Sphere reported that the British troops were feted by the Boulogne people on their arrival, and invited to take what they wanted from the shops for free.
