Description British officers in mourning for the death of Lord Kitchener
Details

Two British officers of the Scots Guards bearing the Colour at the changing of the guard at Buckingham palace. The two soldiers are seen in black crepe armbands, as ordered by the King, following the death of Lord Kitchener (1850-1916). Kitchener died on the 5th June 1916 when the ship he was aboad, the HMS Hampshire, struck a mine and sank off Orkney.
