Description Buoys and Grapnels used in recovering the Atlantic Telegraph
Details

The buoys and grapnels that were used to recover an Atlantic Telegraph Cable, September. The telegraph cable, which was laid in 1865 by the 'Great Eastern', broke in 1866 and was therefore pulled up from the ocean bed with the grapnels, mended and repositioned.
