Portrait of the society twin sisters, Alison and Margaret Hore-Ruthven, daughters of Lord and Lady Ruthven. Alison (left) was married in 1929 to John Leighton Barran. Margaret got married in 1932, to publisher Peter Llewelyn Davies, one of the brothers who inspired J. M. Barrie to write Peter Pan.
