Description | Bystander cover - Our Lonely Soldiers by Charles Robinson |
Details |
'The Hon. Mrs Major de Tomkyns and her daughters make it their duty to take at least one wounded "Tommy" out in their car whenever they go visiting.' A humorous comment on the numerous society ladies anxious to help wounded soldiers on their return to Britain. In this case, it is rather difficult to see the officer in question as he is hidden behind a feminine veil of scarves, chiffon and parasols.
