Superb front cover of The Bystander magazine from 1919 celebrating peace in Europe following the end of World War One, though the Treaty of Versailles would not be signed until the following month. Female representatives of Britain, Belgium, Italy, France and the USA clad in gorgeous, brightly patriotic robes, raise their glasses in a toast to peace in Europe. Note the absence of Russia!
