Cover of The Bystander magazine's Riviera supplement carrying an illustrated advertisement for the Train de Luxe Calais-Mediterranean Express which ran daily from Calais to the Riviera. It ran in connection with the 11am train from London Victoria (South East & Chatham Railway) and the journey took 22 hours in total. As illustrated, the train conveyed travellers to the Cote d'Azur in the most comfortable surroundings.
