Description Cabinet Minister as Fireman: Winston Churchill's daring
Details

Winston Churchill, then President of the Board of Trade, is shown in his pyjamas and a fireman's helmet taking part in yeoman service at the burning of Burley-on-the-Hill. Churchill had been at a party at the home of the Finch family which was destroyed by fire on 6th August 1908. He helped to save precious treasures from the mansion, dashing in to the flames again and again to save many valuable items.
