Mounted and foot police hold back part of the crowd that gathered at the junction of Aldgate and Commercial Road to protest against the proposed march by Sir Oswald Mosley and his British Union of Fascists. 7000 Fascists were expected to march. The anti-fascist crowd was estimated at 100,000
