Details

Gunners of the Canadian First Army firing their Bofors guns during a British and Canadian offensive, Reichswald, Germany, February 1945. The Bofors gun was commonly used as an anti-aircraft weapon, but in this instance was used in support of an infantry assault. The smoke that surrounds the gunners was produced by their rapid-firing guns.
