Description Candadian regimental Colours placed on the Wolfe Monument
Details

The Colours of several Canadian battalions and one artillery battery are seen placed on the monument to General James Wolfe in Westminster Abbey. The Colours were left in the Abbey's care by Canadian troops shortly before their departure to the front. Wolfe commanded the British army in its victory against the French at the Battle of Quebec in which he died in 1759.
