Compton Mackenzie (Sir Edward Montague Compton Mackenzie, 1883-1972), English-born Scottish novelist and nationalist. Aside from his writing he also worked as an actor, political activist and broadcaster. Pictured during the First World War when he was acting as a Military Control Officer in Athens.
